TJ Schuch, MD, MPH, is CIO, Pediatrician, and Provider Builder at South Boston CHC, where he has championed social determinants of health and whole person care.  In addition, Dr. Schuch is an informatics contractor at OCHIN. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Informatics, and Epic Certified in Provider Builder and Healthy Planet.

Over the past decade, Dr. Schuch has championed HPV immunization as cancer prevention, treating pediatric patients at OCHIN member clinic the South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Boston. As informatics director at SBCHC, Dr. Schuch is responsible for customization and clinical decision support build within the electronic health record at SBCHC. As a participant in the OCHIN Epic Provider Builder program and a member of OCHIN’s clinical informatics team, he developed enhancements to the EHR to support improved HPV vaccination rates, and made these improvement available to the OCHIN Collaborative. His efforts resulted in a 70% adolescent HPV vaccine completion rate at SBCHC. In addition, Dr. Schuch has contributed to HPV vaccination research projects at Boston University School of Medicine. Under the auspices of the American Cancer Society, he assisted OCHIN member clinic El Centro de Corazon in Houston, Texas, to stand up a successful HPV immunization program for their adolescent patients.  In recognition of his body of work Dr. Schuch was named Massachusetts’ 2019 HPV Vaccine is Cancer Prevention Champion.
